Building A Stronger Community Through Donor-Driven Philanthropy

The Indian River Community Foundation is a neutral nonprofit organization whose priority is donor-driven philanthropy. By partnering with the Community Foundation, donors receive the simplicity and tax advantages of a public charity combined with the personal recognition, involvement and flexibility of a private foundation plus significant tax benefits. Donors also gain access to the highest level of strategic thinking on solutions to meet community challenges.

The need for a Community Foundation was noted by a local estate planning attorney in the early 1990s. He worked with clients who had both estate planning issues and a desire to be philanthropic but required more flexibility than simply naming a charity as the ultimate beneficiary. After researching numerous solutions, it appeared that a local Community Foundation could provide a solution.

Value of IRCF

A local resident since 1982, artist and most published American author on feng shui, Nancilee searched for the most convenient way to give. When a friend suggested the Indian River Community Foundation, she tested the waters with a small donor advised fund.
